Electricians or landowners wanting to undertake work in Council’s road reserve to provide a Private Underground Electrical Connection to a property MUST apply to Council for approval BEFORE any work is undertaken.

If work is undertaken without prior approval, Council will issue a fine under its Roads By-Laws, the work may not be approved, and you may be prohibited from applying for future approvals.

Electricians must receive approval from Council for the works before TasNetworks will approve connection.

Council will consider applications for PUECs in road reserves on a case by case basis.
