Community Grants

West Tamar Council’s Community Grants programme provides funding between $1,500 – $5,000 for projects and initiatives that respond to the social, cultural, recreational, economic, and environmental needs of West Tamar residents.

Council have introduced a third round of Community grants in the 20/21 year as part of the West Tamar Council Community Care and Recovery Package due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of the third round is to support eligible community groups within the West Tamar municipality. Applications open on the 11th January 2021, and close 5pm, 30th June 2021 unless funds have been exhausted prior.

Grant Timeline and Process

  • 11 Jan 2021 Applications Open
  • 30 June 2021 Application Closing Date (5pm, unless already exhausted)
  • Expend grant funds and provide copies of receipts/invoices to Council within 2 weeks of receiving funding approval

Late applications are not considered.

Your written submission can be sent to PO Box 16, Riverside 7250 or wtc@wtc.tas.gov.au

Your submission is deemed to be received:

a. if delivered by hand or sent by prepaid post - upon delivery to 2-4 Eden Street, Riverside; or

b. if transmitted electronically - upon receipt by the sender of an electronic receipt notification (generated by the system transmitting the notice).

Applicants requiring assistance completing their application are welcome to attend a grant writing workshop by appointment, at a location most suitable to them. Please phone the Community Grant Coordinators on 6323 9200 to arrange.

Applicants seeking $1,500 or less are encouraged to apply for a Small Project Grant, please visit the Small Project Grants page for more information.

Applicants that do not meet the requirements of the checklist on page five (5) of the application form will not be assessed.
