Temporary Road Closures for Events

You must obtain approval from Council for the closure of any part of a Council road or street in the West Tamar municipality for special events such as:

• fun runs
• bike rides
• street parties
• festivals
• parades
• community events
• sporting events

Due the potential significant impact a road closure can have for members of the public and emergency services you should discuss your plans with Council officers well in advance of when you intend to hold your event. To discuss your event and find out more information please contact Council's Community Development Officer on 6323 9200 or email wtc@wtc.tas.gov.au.  It may also be necessary to obtain Police permission for a road closure.
