Key Demographics of West Tamar as at 2006 Census
- There are 20,814 people living in the West Tamar.

49.2% of the population is male and 50.8% female.

Of those aged 15+ 57.8% are married, 25.8% have never been married, 10.6% are divorced and 5.8% are widowed.

English was stated as the only language spoken at home by 92.4%, with the most common languages other than English spoken at home were: Dutch 0.5%, German 0.5%, Italian 0.3%, Cantonese 0.2% and Mandarin 0.2%.
- 16.2% of households rent, 35.8% are purchasing their home and 42.1% own their home outright.
