Three PeaksEvery Good Friday, Inspection Head Wharf at Beauty Point in the Tamar Valley comes alive with people, yachts and activities. Visitors arrive from all over Australia to farewell the fleet of yachts participating in this ultimate endurance challenge that encompasses sailing and marathon running. For the past fourteen years, West Tamar Council has proudly sponsored the race start festival on Inspection Head Wharf and you can join the fun and help celebrate the start of the race with wine, food and laughs on the wharf. Activities start from 10am and it's a great day out for everyone! The event sees the yachts sailing to Flinders Island, Coles Bay and Hobart and the runners climbing a peak at each stop running the equivalent of three marathons The peaks include Mt Strezelecki - Flinders Island (65km), Mt Freycinet - Coles Bay (33km) and Mt Wellington - Hobart (35km). Whilst you join us on Inspection Head Wharf for the start of the race, why not take the opportunity to explore one or two of the many tourist attractions throughout the Tamar Valley over the Easter period. Stay a night or three and indulge yourself!
